Principal Product Manager, Growth

ABOUT SORTLY
Sortly is a simple, multi-device inventory management solution. Our visual & intuitive approach to inventory enables thousands of SMBs and teams within iconic corporations, government entities, music bands & sports teams to stay on top of their consumables, assets, and material things. With over 8,000 five-star ratings in the App Store and a net promoter score greater than 55, our impressive growth has primarily been driven by organic sources and word of mouth. We are profitable, financially independent, and primed to scale within our $20B market! We are proudly a distributed and remote-first company since inception with teams across 4 countries.

OUR VALUES

Real - We lead with authenticity, show transparency through being honest and clear, and take accountability by owning our actions and outcomes.

Inspiring - We think big, empower others to achieve their best, and celebrate wins by recognizing large and small contributions.

Smart - We demonstrate First Principles thinking by always asking “why” and seek to understand deeply, embrace growth mindset and drive decisions with data.

Empathetic - We are humble and listen with an open mind, show up mentally and emotionally to make others feel valued, and consider how our actions impact others.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead our product-led growth strategy at Sortly. In this role, you'll own the entire customer lifecycle—from acquisition (co-owned with growth marketing) and activation to retention and expansion—driving sustainable business growth directly through product innovation and optimization.

You'll be responsible for transforming our product into our primary growth engine, designing acquisition paths, reducing friction in conversion funnels, and creating expansion triggers that drive increasing value over the customer lifetime. This is about making the product itself the most powerful driver of our business growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own Growth Metrics End-to-End

  • Take direct ownership of activation, retention, and expansion metrics.
  • Develop and maintain a relentless focus on controllable product growth input metrics such as trial starts, conversion rates, time to value, and expansion triggers.
  • Conduct rigorous analysis connecting product changes to business outcomes with clear attribution.

Build product-led growth loops

  • Design self-service onboarding experiences that minimize friction and maximize activation.
  • Create viral mechanisms and network effects that drive organic user acquisition.
  • Develop pricing and packaging strategies that incentivize adoption, usage, and natural expansion.
  • Identify and eliminate conversion funnel drop-off points through systematic experimentation.

Drive data-driven experimentation

  • Design and execute A/B tests on critical conversion points to continuously improve growth metrics.
  • Build rapid hypothesis testing frameworks to validate growth opportunities with minimal investment.
  • Leverage product analytics to identify high-value user segments and expansion opportunities.
  • Use behavioral data to create predictive models for churn, expansion, and product-market fit.

Champion growth-enabling infrastructure

  • Partner with engineering to build technical foundations that enable fast experimentation and iteration.
  • Advocate for instrumentation, analytics infrastructure, and experimentation platforms.
  • Ensure product architecture supports rapid scaling as adoption grows.

Lead cross-functional growth initiatives

  • Collaborate with UX to eliminate friction in adoption, activation, and expansion paths.
  • Work with data teams to build dashboards connecting product metrics to revenue growth.
  • Partner with customer success to design in-product expansion paths and retention drivers.

WHAT YOU BRING

Product-Led Growth Expertise

  • 7+ years of product management experience with at least 3+ years focused on growth in B2B SaaS freemium or PLG business models
  • Proven track record of driving measurable business growth through product innovations
  • Deep understanding of product-led growth frameworks, conversion optimization, and growth loops
  • Experience owning first 10-50 customer acquisitions for new products (product-led GA)

Growth Mindset & Strategic Thinking

  • Views the product as the primary engine of business growth, not just what gets sold
  • Ability to identify and prioritize growth levers with highest impact potential
  • Experience segmenting roadmaps by growth levers (acquisition, activation, retention, expansion)
  • Strong understanding of unit economics, LTV:CAC ratios, and cohort analysis

Analytical Rigor

  • Proficiency with product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar)
  • Strong SQL skills and comfort working directly with data
  • Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and multivariate experiments
  • Ability to build compelling ROI cases for growth investments

Customer-Centric Discovery

  • Deep experience with Jobs-to-be-Done and outcome-driven innovation frameworks
  • Skilled at conducting customer research that uncovers growth opportunities others miss
  • Ability to translate qualitative insights into quantitative growth hypotheses

Execution Excellence

  • Track record of moving fast and iterating based on data
  • Experience with structured decision-making frameworks (PACE or similar)
  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
  • Bias for action balanced with analytical rigor

Communication & Influence

  • Ability to communicate product strategy in terms of growth levers and business impact
  • Experience presenting growth metrics and strategy to executive leadership
  • Skilled at building stakeholder alignment across product, engineering, marketing, and sales

NICE TO HAVE

  • Background in growth at companies that achieved strong product-market fit
  • Familiarity with outcome-driven segmentation and value-based pricing
  • Experience with AI-powered growth optimization and personalization
  • Understanding of operational metrics and their impact on conversion/retention

WHY JOIN SORTLY

  • Opportunity to work with a passionate and dedicated team
  • A culture that fosters innovation, growth, and collaboration
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Chance to make a significant impact on the future of inventory management
  • Annual off-site retreats
  • Home office stipend
  • 401k match
  • Yearly learning and development reimbursement
