Segment Strategy Lead

Sila is a next-generation battery materials company focused on increasing energy density and reducing battery size and weight to accelerate clean-energy adoption. The Segment Strategy Lead will own and prioritize market-entry strategies for new, innovative segments (e.g., robotics, eVTOLs), build multi-year business cases, implement pricing frameworks, and enable GTM execution through close collaboration with Product, Sales, and Marketing.

Skills

  • Market analysis (TAM/SAM/SOM) and competitive intelligence
  • Building data-driven business cases and ROI models
  • Experience in product/segment marketing in B2B, manufacturing-heavy technical products
  • Pricing strategy and framework implementation
  • Sales enablement and GTM playbook creation
  • Strong cross-functional influencing and stakeholder management
  • Analytical fluency with financial and market data
  • Willingness to travel (~20%) for trade shows, conferences, and customer engagement

Responsibilities

  • Lead segment ownership for identified next-generation markets; conduct TAM/SAM/SOM and competitive analysis
  • Develop multi-year business cases converting technical performance into customer ROI and financial outcomes
  • Design and implement company-wide pricing frameworks across product offerings
  • Create segment-specific GTM plans, sales playbooks, training, and commercial materials
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Marketing to inform roadmap and validate assumptions
  • Drive industry thought leadership via technical briefings, events, and strategic initiatives
  • Oversee early-stage market validation and transition qualified opportunities to the sales organization
  • Present findings and secure executive alignment for resource allocation and strategy decisions

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required
  • MBA or other advanced business degree preferred
