SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Continuing Education Department at Rowan College at Burlington County is in search of energetic and creative individuals who can design, develop and deliver instructionally sound training programs. This is a needs-based, per-diem, position and requires the candidate to have reliable transportation to travel in the South Jersey Region, as well as familiarity with computer platforms to conduct virtual training.

  • Emergency Management, Public Safety
  • Consult with internal and external customers under the direction of the Continuing Education Director.
  • Design, develop, implement and deliver instructionally sound training programs.
  • Utilize a variety of learning mediums (instructor-led, computer-based, blended) to deliver training,
  • Keep accurate records of training sessions and attendance rosters to be submitted to the Continuing Education Specialist upon course completion.
  • Must adhere to the code of confidentiality in certain cases where discretion should be.
  • Report any student or course issues that arise to the Continuing Education Specialist to be resolved accordingly.

OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.

Education Required:

Bachelor's or higher degree in subject area. Will consider an AS degree or industry relevant certification(s) with strong with history and demonstrated subject matter expertise. Professional designations or certifications as appropriate to content being taught required.

Experience Required:

3+ years professional work experience in the subject area and 2 years of corporate training or facilitation experience.

Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements:

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills, able to work well under tight deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written with analytical skills,
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Understanding of adult learning concepts and behaviors and the ability to utilize a variety of teaching methods that respond to student learning styles.
  • Experience with computer platforms to conduct virtual training as needed.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and group sessions to a diverse population from entry level to executive management,
