Lead Infant Teacher - job 1 of 16

Guidepost Montessori in Flower Mound is seeking a dedicated Lead Infant Guide to nurture infants in a prepared Montessori environment that fosters independence, exploration, and individualized learning. The ideal candidate will closely observe and support each child’s physical, intellectual, and emotional needs, prepare a beautiful and orderly classroom, and collaborate respectfully with families and colleagues.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Montessori principles and prepared environments
  • Experience working with infants (0–3 years) in group settings
  • Strong observational and individualized lesson-planning skills
  • Clear, compassionate parent communication
  • Classroom organization and environment preparation
  • Basic pediatric first aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Patience, empathy, and calm behavior guidance

Responsibilities

  • Observe each infant closely to assess and meet physical, intellectual, and emotional needs
  • Follow individual rhythms for sleeping, feeding, and toileting
  • Prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly Montessori environment tailored to infants
  • Demonstrate materials and activities individually and in small groups
  • Foster independence and self-confidence by encouraging children to ‘do it themselves’
  • Build personal connections with each child and cultivate a respectful classroom community
  • Communicate and collaborate respectfully with parents about development and care
  • Document observations, progress, and plan individualized activities
  • Ensure a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate environment

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Willingness to pursue Montessori training through the Prepared Montessorian Institute (sponsored) or prior Montessori diploma
  • CDA or associate degree in Early Childhood Education preferred but not required
