Responsibilities
- Observe each infant closely to assess and meet physical, intellectual, and emotional needs
- Follow individual rhythms for sleeping, feeding, and toileting
- Prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly Montessori environment tailored to infants
- Demonstrate materials and activities individually and in small groups
- Foster independence and self-confidence by encouraging children to ‘do it themselves’
- Build personal connections with each child and cultivate a respectful classroom community
- Communicate and collaborate respectfully with parents about development and care
- Document observations, progress, and plan individualized activities
- Ensure a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate environment
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Willingness to pursue Montessori training through the Prepared Montessorian Institute (sponsored) or prior Montessori diploma
- CDA or associate degree in Early Childhood Education preferred but not required
