Director of Marketing & Ecommerce

Rocky Talkie is seeking a strategic leader to serve as our Director of Marketing & eCommerce. This is a critical executive role with full ownership over our direct-to-consumer (DTC) revenue, brand strategy, and digital experience.  You’ll set the vision for growth across performance marketing, retention, site experience, and content strategy with a hands-on approach. 

We’re a fast-growing outdoor brand with deep roots in the mountain community and a passionate customer base. We are looking for someone who will expand upon our informative, honest, and community-centered approach to marketing at Rocky Talkie, and help bring our products to new customers. You’ll guide and scale the marketing and ecommerce function with an entrepreneurial mindset, balancing big-picture thinking with day-to-day implementation. 

  • Own and drive the entire DTC funnel, from traffic to conversion to retention
  • Lead brand growth with innovative, cross-channel marketing strategies that elevate visibility and engagement
  • Steward and evolve the Rocky Talkie brand as we grow and expand into new customer segments and geographic markets
  • Guide strategy and execution across performance and retention marketing, lifecycle, user experience, content, and storytelling
  • Oversee the ecommerce roadmap, managing Shopify and the integrated tech stack
  • Build, mentor, and scale a nimble team while collaborating cross-functionally across product, operations, and customer experience
  • Translate data into insights, and insights into action

Remote (Strong preference for candidates located in the Front Range of Colorado, ideally near Denver)

What we are looking for

  • A proven marketing and ecommerce leader with 8+ years of experience, including leadership roles in DTC brands
  • Deep expertise in growth marketing, retention, and ecommerce operations
  • Equally comfortable setting vision and executing - from building strategy decks to writing briefs to QA'ing a campaign launch
  • Analytical, creative, and customer-obsessed
  • Success working in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments
  • Passionate about the outdoors and excited by the opportunity to shape the future of an authentic backcountry brand

About Rocky Talkie

Rocky Talkie launched in 2019 with its signature product, a backcountry radio made for climbers and skiers. Since then, we have launched multiple best-in-class products in the adventure sports industry. We are committed to making easy-to-use, high-performance products for the backcountry. Rocky Talkie has a rapidly growing base of happy customers in the USA and Canada. We design our products to help people in extreme conditions, and our radios have been adopted for use in a wide variety of outdoor activities and commercial applications. We have a small, passionate, and highly motivated team with a deep understanding of our customers. 

At Rocky Talkie, we’re driven by the belief that better communication in the backcountry can save lives. As part of this mission, we donate $2 per radio sold to search and rescue teams around the country, supporting those who help keep outdoor communities safe.
