Business Development & Capture Lead (DoD Domain | Remote)

Rackner is a hypergrowth software consultancy building cloud-native, secure, and AI-powered solutions for commercial and public-sector customers. We’re seeking a seasoned Business Development & Capture Lead to own the full capture lifecycle across DoD and Air Force opportunities, craft winning strategies, drive pursuits from discovery through award, and cultivate strategic relationships with defense stakeholders.

Skills

  • 5+ years federal business development or capture management experience (DoD/air force preferred)
  • Proven success leading multi-million-dollar pursuits from concept through award
  • Familiarity with Air Force acquisition processes and broader DoD ecosystem
  • Comfortable discussing technical solutions such as DevSecOps, AI/ML, cloud architecture, and cybersecurity
  • Experience using CRM and pipeline tools (Monday.com, Deltek GovWin, Salesforce)
  • Strong written and verbal communication for proposals and stakeholder engagement

Responsibilities

  • Lead full capture lifecycle from opportunity discovery through contract award
  • Develop win themes, capture plans, and compliant proposal strategies
  • Engage and build relationships with DoD and Air Force decision-makers to influence requirements
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (technical, pricing, contracts, proposals) to deliver competitive bids
  • Represent Rackner at customer sessions, industry events, and executive strategy offsites
  • Track pipeline and CRM data; maintain pursuit documentation and status reporting
  • Mentor and help grow Rackner’s future BD/capture organization as the company scales

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Eligibility for DoD security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
