Summary of Duties

As an Office Specialist 2, you will:

  • Provide general clerical support to child welfare caseworkers and supervisors.

  • Ensures the timely production of all payments in compliance with policy and procedural requirements.

  • Ensure forms and letters are in accordance with ODHS policy and procedures.

  • Process paperwork and payments that guarantee documentation of responsible services to clients and consumers.

  • Perform administrative, general office and record processing activities to ensure timely and accurate support service.

  • Actively seek to achieve the ODHS goals of integrity, stewardship, responsibility, respect and professionalism, service equity and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR

  • An associate degree in any field; OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions

  • Your work will take place in the Bend Child Welfare office.

  • This is a part-time position; the work schedule will be determined upon hire and will equal 20 hours per week.

  • You will interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.

  • Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprint-based criminal records check.

General Information

  • This is a permanent, part-time position and is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).  

  • Part-time employees are paid hourly, the monthly salary will be prorated (the salary range listed in the job announcement applies to full-time positions).

  • Part-time employees are eligible for benefits and holiday pay on a prorated basis, according to their work schedule.
