Project Structural Engineer – Federal Engineering and Design
Skills
- Structural analysis and design (concrete, steel, masonry, wood)
- Autodesk/Revit proficiency
- Knowledge of UFC, IBC, ASCE, AISC codes
- Preparation of construction documents and calculations
- Experience with federal design processes (DoD, VA) and security requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Project scheduling and budget awareness
Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering design for vertical federal projects (barracks, hospitals, administrative and secure facilities).
- Perform detailed analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems; produce plans, specifications, and calculations.
- Coordinate with architects, civil and MEP teams, contractors, and federal stakeholders to integrate structural systems.
- Apply and verify compliance with UFC, IBC, ASCE, AISC, and other applicable federal and industry codes.
- Support proposal development, scope definition, and federal RFP responses to grow the federal portfolio.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and perform quality reviews of deliverables.
- Manage schedules, budgets, and deliverables as required to meet client and project objectives.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis)
- Master’s degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering preferred
- PE or SE license required
