As a Sr. Cloud Engineer at Ollion, you will own the technical relationship with a set of Clients and serve as their technical advocate point of contact for all aspects of their cloud environment, including architecture, operations, and deployments. You will ensure the smooth operation of our managed services, troubleshoot issues, and provide expert guidance to the internal Ollion team and the Client’s team. You will also serve as the escalation point for all technical issues, ensuring prompt resolution and support to minimize downtime. This position requires an individual who possesses thought leadership and extensive cloud expertise, the ability to communicate the vision and hands-on involvement with a start-up mentality.
Job Requirements
Lead the design, implementation, administration and overall management of cloud infrastructure for multiple clients
Perform technical reviews of their existing cloud deployments and provide continuous recommendations to proactively identify and prevent issues
Consult with Clients to understand their strategic initiatives and provide personalized recommendations to achieve them through the usage of cloud based technology
Develop appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) which align to the Client’s attainment of their digital objectives and drive to achieving them
Identify opportunities for Ollion to deliver more value and expand the partnership with the Client
Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud-related issues, working closely with other engineers on your team and the Client
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction with each Client engagement
Lead root cause analysis for business critical outages, joining calls with customers on a frequent basis to assist in live troubleshooting to expedite resolution of the Client’s problems
Work with security personnel to perform regular security reviews, including identifying and addressing gaps in infrastructure not meeting compliance rules (PCI, SOC2, HIPAA, etc); document systems, processes, and procedures
Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable deployments
Apply Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to automate environment provisioning and configuration
Implement, troubleshoot, and design container orchestration solutions
Ability to identify and recommend appropriate utilization of containerized, kubernetes, and serverless solutions
Ensure that Client specific run-books and documentation is maintained at all times
Collaboratively develop and maintain policies, standards, processes, and tools that apply to Client account governance and management
Maintain knowledge of emerging cloud technologies and trends
Build automation and effectively utilize Ai to improve day to enhance operational efficiency and business agility
Continuously improve skills, product expertise, and knowledge on related technical topics
Be a technical mentor to the support others on the engineering team and be an escalation POC
ensure cyber readiness, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence in alignment with business goals
Act as the company’s subject matter expert on industry regulations and provide compliance consulting and guidance to clients You'll also design and embed compliance processes into assessments, ensuring they’re executed effectively — whether handled in-house or through trusted partners
Work as part of a team for a 24/7 rotating schedule including US hours and on-call rotation
Undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility as may be required from time to time
Expertise you bring
3+ years of experience on a technical team as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Security Operations and 5+ years in IT
Understanding and experience in Cloud Technologies. Should possess general familiarity across all three major CSPs (GCP, AWS and Azure) and expert level on at least one
Strong knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and risk management principles
Experience with containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Serverless) orchestration and IAC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
Familiarity with cloud-native applications, microservices, and DevOps practices
Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with Clients, internal teams, and stakeholders.
Problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions to resolve issues and challenges, efficiently and timely.
Time management: Effective time management skills to lead complex, cross-functional technology projects and various other tasks simultaneously.
Proactive approach: Being proactive in identifying potential issues, opportunities for improvement, and going the extra mile to ensure Ollion’s and our Client’s success.
Team player: Collaborating effectively with other teams within the organization, such as sales, marketing, customer support, and product development.
Adaptability: Being adaptable to evolving business needs, unplanned challenges and embody a collaborative “all hands on-deck” mentality when necessary.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing departmental budgets and negotiating with vendors.
Industry certification(s) AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Certified: Cloud Solution Architect Expert, or equivalent certifications.
B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or IT Management.
