Position Summary
The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees, including hourly production staff and salaried personnel. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance, reconciling time and attendance, and serving as a reliable resource for employees with payroll-related inquiries.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred.
2+ years of payroll processing experience in a manufacturing or industrial company.
Proficiency with payroll systems and timekeeping software (ADP, Paychex, or similar).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive data.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to meet strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll, validating hours worked, overtime, and shift differentials.
Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Resolve employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and benefits.
Collaborate with HR and Finance to reconcile payroll data and prepare reports.
Support audits, tax filings, and year-end payroll documentation.
Monitor changes in wage, tax, and compliance laws to ensure accuracy.
