Project Manager, Substations - Michels Pacific Energy, Inc.

Michels Pacific Energy, Inc., a family-owned energy and infrastructure contractor, builds and maintains transmission, distribution, and substation systems across the West Coast. The company seeks a reliable, organized Project Manager to lead phases of larger projects or multiple smaller projects (typically ~$5M or less), ensuring safety, client satisfaction, schedule adherence, and profitable completion.

Skills

  • Proven project management experience in construction or energy infrastructure
  • Familiarity or experience with substation, switchyard, and BESS construction (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling, and contract management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability and willingness to travel to job sites

Responsibilities

  • Manage a phase of a larger project or multiple smaller projects (~$5M or less) from proposal/bid through profitable completion
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and forecasts to meet contractual and company objectives
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and promote a safety-first culture on site
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to achieve quality and schedule targets
  • Serve as primary client contact to set expectations and resolve project issues
  • Oversee quality control, compliance, permitting, and documentation
  • Perform site visits, progress reporting, and change order management
  • Travel to project sites as required

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 3+ years of related project management experience (or equivalent)
