Kobre & Kim consistently seeks exceptional candidates with the talent to deliver outstanding service that anticipates client needs.

Position Details:

Company Description

Kobre & Kim is a conflict-free global law firm focused exclusively on disputes and investigations, often involving fraud and misconduct. Recognized as the premier firm for cross-border disputes, the firm has a particular focus on financial products and services litigation, insolvency disputes, intellectual property litigation, international judgment enforcement and asset recovery, and U.S. government enforcement and regulatory investigations. Kobre & Kim operates out of offices in New York, Washington DC, San Francisco, Miami, Delaware, London, São Paolo, Tel Aviv, Dubai, Seoul, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Cyprus, Cayman Islands, and British Virgin Islands.

Job Description

The Litigation Assistant (LA) position is an excellent opportunity for recent college graduates or young professionals to gain hands-on experience in the fields of complex international civil and criminal financial litigation. LAs immediately become key members of case teams, often working directly alongside or in collaboration with the firm’s attorneys and balancing both long-term organizational responsibilities and substantive ad hoc tasks. LAs also support pro bono, knowledge management, and global business development to drive the firm’s practice and product innovation forward. As an LA, you’ll work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your responsibilities adapt to the needs of each case team. This variety offers continual opportunities for learning and developing as a professional in the legal field.

Important Application Note

Kobre & Kim offers two early career programs: Litigation Assistant and Analyst. Candidates may apply to only one program. Please review both job descriptions carefully and select the position that best aligns with your background, skills, and career goals before applying. Applications to both programs will not be considered.

Please note, this is a full-time role requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. Candidates should submit a single application for the cohort they are eligible for and prefer to join based on their graduation date and availability to start on the target date of January 26, 2026. Applicants should not submit applications for both the January 2026 and June 2026 cohorts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain case deadlines, contacts and electronic files

  • Prepare attorney and client binders

  • Prepare materials for meetings, court proceedings, and court filings

  • Coordinate document delivery and logistics

  • Develop and implement systems to support case team organization

  • Review and analyze discovery and legal documents

  • Conduct legal research under attorney supervision

  • Attend court hearings and client meetings under attorney supervision

Career Development

LAs have opportunities for advancement after their first year, including transitioning to leadership roles, specializing in practice areas, and/or potentially transferring to other departments or offices worldwide. Compensation and benefits, including paid study leave, a language stipend, and a professional development stipend, are highly competitive with top-tier global consulting firms and local markets.

Our LAs leave the role well-prepared for advanced academic and professional paths, including law school, business school, graduate studies or careers in consulting, finance, or investigations. The position also cultivates transferable skills such as problem-solving, time management and written and verbal communication. By working closely with fellow LAs, Analysts, and attorneys, LAs will gain a strong command of the practical and logistical foundations involved with legal work.

Job Qualifications

We strongly encourage applications from confident, high performing, highly motivated individuals who display professionalism and a broad range of academic and extracurricular interests. Interest in exploring financial markets and pursuing a career in law is welcomed but not necessary. As Litigation Assistants, candidates should be prepared to take on critical organizational and case management responsibilities that enable case teams to operate effectively. Students of all majors, including STEM, finance, social science, and liberal arts are encouraged to apply.
