Accountabilities

As a Senior Software Engineer (Back-end), you will:

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs, primarily leveraging Elixir/Phoenix, with exposure to Go, NodeJS, and other technologies.
• Support existing products while contributing to the development of new features and system improvements.
• Collaborate with frontend teams (React/GraphQL/Relay) to ensure seamless integration with backend systems.
• Engineer solutions to collect and process business-critical metrics from various consumer-facing digital experiences.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, business development, and product, to gather requirements, provide updates, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in technical strategy discussions, helping define project vision and software architecture.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and security of backend systems deployed on AWS and managed with Terraform.

Candidates should have:

• Strong experience in backend software development, with proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Python, Ruby, Elixir, Rust, or Clojure.
• Experience building full-stack web applications and a solid understanding of web technologies (HTTP, cookies, CSP, CORS).
• Strong relational database fundamentals and experience querying large datasets (e.g., PostgreSQL, BigQuery).
• Comfort working in Linux environments and using the command line.
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional, remote-first teams and effectively communicating with stakeholders.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies (AWS preferred).
• Preferred experience includes: security or penetration testing, frontend frameworks like React or Angular, and deploying systems on cloud infrastructure.
