Senior Project Manager I, Land Development

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager I, Land Development in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to manage and advance renewable energy land development projects, focusing on standalone storage and solar-plus-storage sites. The Senior Project Manager will support site due diligence, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful project execution. Ideal candidates thrive in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment, managing multiple projects and collaborating with consultants, legal teams, and internal stakeholders. This position emphasizes strategic planning, technical review, and community interaction while allowing autonomy in project management. You will play a key role in advancing clean energy initiatives, driving projects from early development through permitting and execution, and contributing directly to the growth of sustainable energy infrastructure.


Accountabilities:
  • Support projects through critical stages including feasibility scoping, due diligence, permitting, budgeting, and schedule development.
  • Coordinate site evaluations, technical data collection, and reviews with external consultants for environmental, civil, and land studies.
  • Manage relationships with local stakeholders, planning/zoning boards, state and federal agencies, and outside counsel.
  • Prepare and submit permitting applications, track approvals, and ensure compliance with local land-use requirements.
  • Develop project schedules, monitor deadlines, and maintain organized project documentation for internal reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, legal, and finance, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as needed and contribute to process improvements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, geosciences, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in commercial land development, project management, or related disciplines.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, external consultants, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Advanced knowledge of land-use planning, zoning, and permitting processes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience reviewing technical reports, coordinating site walks, and recommending actionable next steps.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects across various stages of development.
  • Willingness to travel (~30%) for project meetings, public hearings, and company events.
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, proficiency with Smartsheet, Procore, Bluebeam, or other project management tools.
