This role offers the opportunity to lead a talented, agile engineering team focused on developing a high-impact student engagement platform. The Engineering Manager will drive technical strategy, team performance, and product delivery while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will oversee the professional growth and development of your team members, ensure effective resource allocation, and partner closely with product management to align project goals with business priorities. You will serve as a technical and cultural leader, championing engineering excellence and operational efficiency.
· Lead a global team of 6–9 engineers, guiding career development, performance management, and team engagement.
· Drive resourcing strategies, cross-training initiatives, and promote versatile, t-shaped skill development within the team.
· Define and oversee technical direction through system design, architecture consultation, and code reviews as needed.
· Partner with Product Managers to clarify project requirements, manage roadmaps, and break down initiatives into iterative deliverables.
· Represent the engineering team to stakeholders, leadership, and other product teams, advocating for priorities and technical feasibility.
· Identify and remove roadblocks to accelerate delivery and maintain high-quality outcomes.
· Implement data-driven decision-making, using metrics and analytics to inform both product and team processes.
· Foster a culture of collaboration, high performance, continuous improvement, and accountability.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
· 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
· 2+ years in an engineering leadership role managing agile/scrum teams.
· Experience leading globally distributed, cross-functional teams.
· Proven ability to drive team performance through coaching, feedback, and process improvements.
· Strong hands-on experience with modern, multi-tiered user-facing applications.
· Familiarity with Golang, Typescript, and React/Redux is a plus.
· Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to balance urgency and quality while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Competitive base salary ($143,200–$179,000) plus annual bonus and stock options.
