This role leads a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and scaling the systems that power paid marketing channels. You will oversee backend, data, and mobile engineering efforts, translating marketing needs into technical solutions that drive measurable growth. As a manager, you will set the technical roadmap, foster a culture of collaboration and excellence, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful campaigns. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on execution, innovation, and enabling marketers with reliable, scalable, and intelligent infrastructure.

• Lead and develop a team of 9+ engineers across backend, data engineering, and mobile domains, providing coaching, feedback, and career development opportunities.
• Own the technical roadmap for Paid MarTech, prioritizing scaling existing systems and building self-serve tooling for marketing teams.
• Establish clear goals, remove blockers, and ensure high-quality, timely delivery of engineering projects while maintaining sustainable pace and healthy team dynamics.
• Partner with Marketing, Product, Analytics, and other engineering teams to align priorities, gather requirements, and deliver impactful technical solutions.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture through regular 1:1s, team rituals, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic planning, resource allocation, and organizational initiatives to support Marketing Enablement & Technology objectives.
• Guide technical decision-making across backend (Python, Ruby, APIs), data (SQL, Snowflake, DBT, Airflow), and mobile (iOS, SDK integrations) platforms, ensuring architectural consistency and quality.

• 5–8+ years of software or data engineering experience, with expertise in backend, data, or mobile technologies.
• 2+ years of engineering management experience leading teams of 6+ engineers, with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and retain technical talent.
• Proven experience owning technical roadmaps, balancing competing priorities, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, able to translate business needs into technical solutions with Marketing, Product, and Analytics teams.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to provide actionable feedback and support team growth.
• Preferred: experience in marketing technology, ad tech, or growth engineering, with hands-on knowledge of Paid Marketing operations, attribution, and campaign optimization.
• Preferred: technical proficiency with Python, Ruby, SQL, Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, iOS development, and third-party SDK integrations.
• Experience scaling systems and teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments while maintaining quality and team health.

• Competitive base salary: $187,000—$250,000 USD, depending on location.
