- Native or near-native fluency in Northern Sotho (Sepedi)
- Proven experience in translation, linguistics, language teaching, editing, or related language work
- Familiarity with linguistic annotation or quality evaluation processes
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- Attention to detail and ability to spot subtle linguistic or cultural errors
- Comfortable using web-based annotation platforms and basic productivity tools
- Reliable internet connection and secure personal computing environment
Responsibilities
- Review and annotate Northern Sotho text for training and evaluation datasets
- Evaluate AI-generated Northern Sotho outputs for grammar, fluency, semantics, and cultural appropriateness
- Identify, document, and categorize recurring error patterns and edge cases
- Provide detailed feedback to improve prompts, model responses, and annotation guidelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine evaluation methods and linguistic standards
- Translate and adapt source content when required to create high-quality training examples
- Maintain data security and confidentiality while using company platforms and tools
Education
- Bachelor's degree in linguistics, translation, language studies, or equivalent professional experience preferred
- Formal training or coursework in linguistics, translation, or language education is a plus
- Relevant professional certifications or documented project experience in language work accepted in lieu of degree
