About the Role

A leading global cloud infrastructure organization is seeking a Data Center Project Manager to oversee and execute complex infrastructure improvement initiatives within operational data centers. You’ll work on high-impact, high-urgency projects that sit outside traditional construction or routine maintenance—ensuring optimal use of space, power, and cooling across mission-critical environments.

This role sits within the Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team—a specialized task force responsible for planning and delivering improvements that enhance infrastructure performance and uptime in live data centers.

As a Project Manager, you will serve as a technical authority, overseeing the execution of multidisciplinary upgrades including electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems. You’ll manage stakeholders, coordinate vendors, and ensure each project aligns with broader strategic goals around capacity, efficiency, and resiliency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage data center infrastructure upgrade projects across live operational environments
• Oversee work across multiple disciplines (electrical, mechanical, controls, architectural)
• Coordinate project planning, vendor management, budgeting, scheduling, and execution
• Identify opportunities for system improvements and incorporate feedback from stakeholders
• Ensure all activities are compliant with safety, operational, and engineering standards
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership teams

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing infrastructure projects within live data centers or similarly critical environments (e.g., hospitals, utility facilities, manufacturing, transportation, oil & gas)
• 5+ years of experience in construction or project management roles
• Strong background in on-site construction trades such as mechanical, electrical, or general contracting
• Proven experience managing vendor relationships

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
• Expertise in power distribution and data center cooling systems
• Ability to interpret technical designs, manage complex trade-offs, and collaborate with diverse technical and non-technical teams
• Demonstrated success in delivering results within fast-paced, high-stakes environments
