Strategic Account Executive -San Francisco

GitLab is an open-core, public company providing an AI-powered DevSecOps platform used by thousands of organizations to accelerate software delivery. They are seeking a Strategic Account Executive to drive complex, consultative enterprise sales across large, regulated organizations, owning the full sales cycle and working cross-functionally to ensure successful adoption, expansion, and long-term customer value.

Skills

  • Proven success in complex B2B enterprise software sales with consultative, multi-stakeholder motions.
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with C-level and senior technical/business stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Experience collaborating with channel partners on co-sell and joint account strategies.
  • Familiarity with software development tooling, DevSecOps concepts, Git, CI/CD, or application security is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full sales cycle for large, strategic enterprise prospects and customers, from prospecting to close.
  • Act as trusted advisor to customer stakeholders across business and technical teams to align GitLab solutions with business outcomes.
  • Develop and execute account plans, opportunity mapping, and multi-threaded engagement to drive adoption and expansion.
  • Coordinate with Solutions Architects, Customer Success, Support, and channel partners to deliver integrated account strategies.
  • Ensure successful rollout and ongoing adoption through proactive account management and regular business reviews.
  • Prepare accurate activity and forecast reports; analyze wins/losses and share actionable learnings with internal teams.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, providing feedback and product ideas to influence roadmap and strategy.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience preferred
  • Open to candidates with diverse educational backgrounds and demonstrated sales success
