The Director of McDonough Career Center is a key member of the Career Management team responsible for developing career management strategies and coaching students on their careers. Additionally, this person will manage the employer relationships and assist with designing marketing strategies for a group of employers within specified Industry Segments. This person contributes career advice and industry expertise to the development and delivery of value-added, client-focused career management services for approximately 500 fulltime MBA students and 380 part-time FLEX MBA students, both in person and on-line modalities.
The Director and student Peer Advisors are industry experts and provide career management advice and recruiting guidance to students and employers, respectively. A Recruitment Coordinator will be required as a team member where the number and complexity of industry segments covered is disproportionately high.

The Director focuses on international opportunities and management development programs, and coaches students whose focus is on a specific function vs. an industry or who are uncertain of their career focus. The Director focuses on all Corporate Functional areas within assigned Industries. This role/ Director focuses on the Technology and Healthcare industries.
Work Interactions
This position reports to an Assistant Dean. This person also provides leadership and support to Industry Team members. This position will have primary responsibility for external relationships and account management on behalf of career management. This person may interact closely with MSB and GU faculty and administrators, alumni, employers, and MSB Board members, and serve as key liaison between employers and students. The Director supports the admissions process by interviewing prospective candidates, conducting career management presentations at admissions events, and/or providing employer-focused counsel to the Admissions team. The Director works closely with faculty, MSB staff, students, employers, alumni and other stakeholders who may influence the career path of the students.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Psychology, HR, Higher Education, Counseling, or equivalent degree required
5+ years in very polished, demanding corporate environment is required. Experience and or strong knowledge of higher education are desired
Experience within MBA recruiting process and management experience in a Human Resources environment. Extremely strong interpersonal communication abilities and strong team orientation. Proven experience handling corporate and/university relationships. Proven leadership. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-task environment with tight deadlines
Experience coaching and mentoring junior staff on professional development and career skills. Must be strategic and innovative and focus on holistic, systemic solutions. Strong leadership, coaching/advising skills are required. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and deliver results by working with others
Must have significant experience/expertise in at least one of the industries/functions
Must have recruiting experience as a hiring manager or recruiting/HR professional
Strong knowledge of Microsoft (word, xls, ppt), understanding of general recruiting databases and budgeting experience are preferred
Highly organized and creative. High level of flexibility and innovation
Preferred qualifications
Master’s Degree Preferred
5+ years of in MBA career advising or coaching and/or campus recruiting is preferred.
Relevant industry or function experience is preferred

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$54,616.00 - $100,493.33Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
