Skills
- 7+ years building production backend systems
- Experience designing clean, well-documented APIs
- Proven background with architecture and patterns for high-scale web applications
- Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices: design patterns, testing, code review
- Understanding of security fundamentals and common web attacks/defenses
- Clear verbal and written technical communication
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain complex backend systems and platform services
- Design, build, and maintain APIs for internal and external use
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and non-technical stakeholders to develop and ship features
- Diagnose and solve performance, reliability, and scalability issues
- Participate in and lead code reviews and promote engineering best practices
- Help architect internal standards, frameworks, and patterns
- Mentor and grow junior engineers
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) is a plus but not required
