Accounting and Payroll Specialist

FLSA Status: Exempt, Full Time 

Compensation: $ 65,000 – 75,000 

Location/Travel: San Antonio – Corporate (Hybrid position, 1-2 days from home)

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to oversee various accounting duties and process payroll operations!?

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process day-to-day transactions 
• Maintain general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, and setting up new accounts 
• Maintain supporting documentation for financial reporting 
• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports 
• Participate in annual audit and budget preparation 
• Process bi-weekly multi-state payrolls for more than 700 employees 
• Work with the HR team to aggregate employee data relating to new hires, terminations & bonus payments during each pay period to accurately process payroll for that period 
• Assist employees with online changes to taxes and direct deposit in Paylocity 
• Process taxes and payment of employee benefits 
• Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors 
• Administer 401(k) plan in coordination with HR team and sister company 
• Assist finance department with payroll related accounting journal entries

Education and Experience:

• 3+ years of accounting experience 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel 
• Experience with processing payroll is strongly preferred 
• Experience working with Paylocity preferred 
• Experience in the healthcare field preferred 
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics BC or other ERP systems 
• Strong financial analysis skills 
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal 
• Strong organizational and stress management skills 
• Ability to work with little to no supervision 
• Experience working in a growing organization
