*This is an Exempt position. Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay.

 

TFGH BACKGROUND:

The Task Force for Global Health is an Emory University affiliate located in Decatur, GA. Its eight programs focus on building durable public health systems that serve all people. Focus areas include neglected tropical diseases, vaccines, and health systems strengthening. The Task Force received the 2016 Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize–the world's largest award of its kind–in recognition of its extraordinary contributions to alleviating human suffering.

 

PROGRAM BACKGROUND:

Voices for Vaccines is a family-led organization that serves as a catalyst to spark positive peer-to-peer conversations about vaccines and the diseases they prevent by supporting communities, building networks, and developing fact-based content that enables parents to make healthy, informed decisions about vaccination for their children and their communities.

 

We strive for a world where children do not suffer from vaccine-preventable diseases. Our work:

  • fosters confidence in vaccines, and
  • restores faith in the science that has prevented millions of childhood deaths.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manages the development, evaluation, and implementation of one of more projects for a specified division or department.
  • Develops written procedures relating to system implementation.
  • Develops and prepares operational and statistical reports for management to assist decision-making for improvements in efficiency and controls.
  • Maximizes the use of reporting software available. Prepares project status reports.
  • Provides input into departmental goals and objectives.
  • Periodically meets with other staff members to discuss progress towards their achievement and to develop future courses of action.
  • Acts as a liaison to other departments for the implementation of new projects.
  • Develops and implements formal training along with implementation of new systems and projects.
  • Assists department staff during the implementation of projects.
  • Develops, builds, and maintains relationships with department and campus staff and external parties who have relationships to area.
  • Ensures effective communication for completion of projects on a timely basis. Develops and makes presentations related to projects.
  • May identify and propose suggestions for improved efficiency and financial controls through various methods such as exception reporting or workflow redesign.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manages the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of Voices for Vaccines’ volunteer programs, including the Vax Ambassadors initiative and partnerships with community-based organizations (CBOs).
  • Develops and executes volunteer recruitment, marketing, and engagement strategies across multiple platforms.
  • Onboards, trains, and supervises volunteers to ensure high-quality, culturally responsive participation.
  • Maintains and expands partnerships with CBOs and recruits and supports social media influencers who amplify vaccine confidence messaging.
  • Tracks program data and outcomes and uses insights to inform continuous improvement.
  • Develops communications and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Trains staff and partner teams on effective volunteer collaboration.
  • Builds and sustains relationships with internal departments and external partners to support national outreach goals and foster inclusive, community-driven impact. 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate fully as a member of the Task Force for Global Health by contributing, assisting and participating in projects, activities, and initiatives as requested by management.

TRAVEL:

  • 15-20% domestic travel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in field related to specific program as indicated and six years program related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The ideal candidate will bring experience working with community-based organizations (CBOs), particularly in health equity, public health, or related advocacy contexts, and will have a proven track record of building, managing, and scaling volunteer programs that center culturally responsive engagement.
  • They should demonstrate a strong understanding of public health messaging, including strategies to address misinformation and build community trust. Familiarity with human-centered design, community organizing, or participatory program development is highly valued, along with excellent facilitation and training skills adaptable to both virtual and in-person environments.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
