The Manassas, Virginia site is one of Catalent’s gummy technology development and manufacturing facilities in North America. The site manufactures organic and vegan-based nutraceuticals via confection to enhance wellness for all consumers. Simply put – we make healthy gummies. Within the Catalent network, we offer a broad range of integrated formulation and analytical services to solve difficult development and manufacturing challenges.
Reporting to the Manager, Project Management or Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager (PM) is accountable for leading at least 5-8 projects within the Product Development department. The PM will deliver their project/program requirements and scope with the support of the project team and their supervision. The PM will work cross-functionally to support progress across the active portfolios within Research & Development Project Management. The Project Manager will be familiar with various aspects of implementing the drug development process in a regulated environment, including topics such as Quality by Design (QbD), Design of Experiment (DOE), and compliance with all regulatory guidelines. In addition, the PM will be accountable for communicating the efforts of the project team internally and externally with the organization and customers. This position is 100% based on-site in Manassas, VA and regular working hours are during the business day, Monday-Friday.
The Role
On plan delivery of assigned development projects within the PD portfolio
Establish working partnerships within PD, with other organizations and with partners/customers outside of Catalent as required to support project deliverables
Effectively communicate on a timely basis with management to ensure clear understanding and acknowledgment of project/program status, risks, actions, and outcomes
Utilize quantifiable measures to gauge status of the project and ensure that objectives are being achieved from inception to completion in a timely manner
Responsible for leading at least 5-8 projects at the department level to meet scope and timeline requirements
Lead project/program activities throughout lifecycle by effectively utilizing the GATE review process and project team structure
Lead project teams to ensure resource requirements are understood and constraints for project deliverables are identified
Inform and coach staff in establishing effective studies with appropriate risk management
Perform other duties as assigned
The Candidate
Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration (Marketing), or related field required
Minimum 1+ years of project development/management experience required
Experience and familiarity with pharmaceutical, manufacturing and/or GMP facilities required
Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills required
Demonstrated experience dealing with various levels in pharmaceutical and/or manufacturing challenges from development to program launch within an organization and with external customers
Superb creation and facilitation of meetings, feedback sessions, and briefings to create consensus among stakeholders
Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods
The employee is required to talk and hear
The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard
Use of manual dexterity is required
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision
