Job Title: History Adjunct Faculty - HIST 205: Introduction to Family History Doctrine and Practice

Position Start Date: January 2, 2026

 

Required Degree: BA, MA, or PhD in History, Family History, or related field, and professional genealogy credential completed or in final stages of review/testing by start date.

The required degree must be completed by the start date. 

 

Experience:  College-level teaching experience, five years of professional genealogical experience, and familiarity with Latter-day Saint history.

Duties/Expectations:  Adjunct professor to teach two sections of HIST 205: Introduction to Family History Doctrine and Practice (2 credits each section). Winter semester 2026. Duties include teaching courses, holding office hours, grading student work, attending occasional faculty training meetings, and teaching curriculum that aligns with established learning outcomes.

Section 10 will be held 9:00-9:50am - Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Section 19 will be held 10:00-11:50am - Fridays.

Both sections will be taught in person on BYU campus.

This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
