THE ROLE
The Disbursements Specialist-Shared Services will join a team that is fundamentally transforming how our shared services operations function to improve efficiency in the processing of payments and provide transparency and meaningful, timely payment reporting.  

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-    Daily, Weekly Payment runs within multiple ERPs.  This will include ACH, Wire Transfer and Check payment, both bank printed and manual methods.  
-    Clearing of Wire Payments to ensure accurate posting and reconciliation within the system.
-    Positive Pay files for manual payments
-    Payment Reversals, Reissues
-    Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of disbursement-related schedules and reconciliations.
-    Maintain accurate and organized payment records for audit and reporting purposes.
-    Vendor Credit Card Payment reconciliation
-    Develop policies governing disbursements, including those that impact payment cycles and payment methodology. 
-    Effective written and verbal communication skills
-    Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
-    Able to analyze and resolve basic issues
-    Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
-    Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. required
-    Able to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment
-    Works under direct supervision
-    Make decisions within defined guidelines
-    Provide cross-functional coordination and subject matter expertise for development of bank testing and implementation of projects to ensure proper adherence to accounting policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

-    Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
-    Strategic thinker with the ability to make connections across workstreams and a decentralized organization.
-    Intermediate to advanced MS Excel (ability to perform complex functions)
-    Thorough knowledge of Accounts Payable, Disbursements and General Ledger systems with the ability to recommend system or process enhancements to improve department efficiencies and enhance accuracy and controls over the payment process.
-    Working Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics a plus
-    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
-    Strong attention to detail required
-    A positive, upbeat and professional attitude and strong work ethic
-    You must be self-motivated and a team player
-    Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and take on new tasks
-    Superb verbal/written communications and organizational skills

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE     
-    3+ years of disbursements experience in a shared services environment
