Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier selection leveraging approved supplier lists and evaluation criteria
- Partner with strategic suppliers on concept scoping, joint design development, and statements of work
- Develop should-cost/clean-sheet models and lead all cost engineering activities to converge product cost
- Drive development and consolidation of the manufacturing BOM with Quality & Manufacturing for internal and supplier production ramp
- Manage CAPEX throughout NPI and support production ramp planning
- Perform value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility
- Complete BOM risk assessments and qualify alternate component sourcing
- Ensure completion of component qualifications ahead of production
- Reduce complexity via commonality optimization and component/supplier rationalization
- Manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical field (required)
- Master’s or advanced technical degree (preferred)
