Skills
- Degree in technical field (engineering, math, or hard science)
- 5+ years operations experience in process, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, strategic sourcing, or electromechanical hardware design
- Hands-on experience manufacturing hardware (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.)
- Ability to perform make-vs-buy and total cost of ownership analyses
- Experience working with and managing contract manufacturers
- Experience developing production and test processes for repeatability and scale
- Strong documentation and technical writing for manufacturing processes
- Eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret security clearance
Responsibilities
- Own technical and commercial manufacturing value chain for assigned products to enable scalable production
- Plan and prioritize short- and long-term supply chain, production, and test optimizations to meet production goals
- Develop business cases for vertical integration or strategic supply partnerships to accelerate scalability
- Perform make-vs-buy analysis for subassemblies to maximize total cost of ownership, lead time, and flexibility
- Partner with contract manufacturers to develop repeatable processes for quick-turn development and at-scale production/test
- Be on-site with operations partners to manage technical and commercial needs, resolve production issues, and improve capacity
- Work hands-on with technicians and engineers building prototypes and production hardware
- Create manufacturing documentation and processes required for successful scale-up
- Reduce complexity through component/supplier rationalization and commonality optimization
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related technical field (required)
- Advanced degree in engineering or operations management (preferred)
