Skills
- Proven experience with high-density PCB layout and modern PCB manufacturing constraints.
- Deep knowledge of high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR, USB, MIPI) and signal/power integrity.
- Experience developing test plans, bench validation, and hardware performance characterization.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC susceptibility/emissions and mitigation techniques.
- Ability to collaborate across hardware, firmware, and software teams and coordinate external vendors.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and build high-speed digital PCBAs (schematic capture, simulation, board layout).
- Develop high-performance, robust avionics and on-board communications to move high-bandwidth data between air and ground assets.
- Define in-house vs. outsource decisions and communicate design requirements with external vendors and suppliers.
- Work cross-functionally with software, firmware, mechanical, and systems teams to integrate and validate avionics subsystems.
- Create hardware validation test plans, perform benchmarking, and execute subsystem and full-system validation and flight test.
- Address thermal, mechanical, power, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC tradeoffs during design and verification.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field (required)
- Advanced degree in EE or related discipline (preferred)
