Calibration Engineer
Skills
- Proven experience managing calibration programs in manufacturing or production environments
- Experience working with and managing third‑party calibration vendors
- Familiarity with automated calibration tools and calibration management software
- Knowledge of common industry calibration standards and methods
- In‑depth knowledge of AS9100 and AS6500 standards and application to calibration
- Strong leadership, project management, and cross‑site coordination skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration abilities
- Eligible to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance
Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve core calibration activities for devices at local factories (Santa Ana & Costa Mesa).
- Define project milestones, develop execution plans, and monitor progress for quality system enhancements.
- Create and implement an In‑House Calibration Roadmap balancing in-house capability and vendor use.
- Evaluate and implement technologies and methods to improve calibration efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage and maintain the calibration database, updating tool locations, owners, and status.
- Optimize equipment rotations and inventory to support users and production without shortages.
- Improve intake and handling infrastructure for assets requiring calibration and vendor handoff.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate calibration procedures, documentation, and training materials.
- Train internal stakeholders on calibration procedures and conduct spot audits for compliance.
- Support global site readiness for internal and external audits and ensure traceability and reporting.
Education
- Associates degree in Science, Engineering, or similar technical field (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (preferred)
