Head of Developer Platform and Infrastructure
Skills
- Deep technical expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and platform design.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and modern DevOps tooling/principles.
- Strong background in APIs, service-oriented architecture, and data platforms (SQL/NoSQL).
- Programming experience in languages such as Rust, Go, Python, or C++ and frontend frameworks like React.
- Proven leadership in managing multiple complex projects and cross-functional teams.
- Experience implementing monitoring, observability, and automated rollback strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a diverse team of software engineers and technical leaders focused on internal developer platform and infrastructure.
- Define and execute strategic vision and technical roadmap for the Developer Platform.
- Establish and run an efficient release heartbeat and cadence to accelerate product delivery.
- Design and enforce robust, scalable platform abstractions and internal tooling.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with product managers, infrastructure teams, and engineering leadership.
- Ensure technical excellence, reliability, observability, and security of internal platforms and services.
- Champion DevOps best practices, CI/CD, automation, testing, and continuous improvement.
- Implement risk management, rollback plans, and incident recovery processes.
- Analyze delivery metrics and drive process improvements for speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced degree preferred but not required.
