Director, Prime Brokerage Sales

Alpaca is a US-headquartered, self-clearing broker-dealer and API-first brokerage infrastructure serving institutions across equities, options, crypto and more. We're hiring a Director of Prime Brokerage Sales to drive institutional adoption among hedge funds, prop trading firms, family offices and HNW traders by leveraging an existing book of business and deep industry relationships to grow revenue, AUM, and transaction volume.

Skills

  • 7+ years institutional or professional trading sales experience
  • Proven book of business or established relationships with hedge funds, prop shops, RIAs, family offices or HNW traders
  • Strong knowledge of trading workflows, APIs, FIX connectivity and market microstructure
  • Experience selling multi-asset execution (equities, options, digital assets) and clearing solutions
  • Track record of exceeding quotas and closing complex B2B/institutional deals
  • Excellent communication and negotiation with C-level and fund managers
  • Comfortable in unstructured, high-growth startup environments

Responsibilities

  • Originate and expand an institutional pipeline via existing relationships, conferences, and industry networks
  • Own full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, proposals, negotiation, and closing
  • Drive revenue, transaction volume, and assets under management from institutional clients
  • Craft consultative value propositions based on trading technology, API integration, and market microstructure
  • Build strategic partnerships with fintechs, brokers, and trading platforms to embed Alpaca infrastructure
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to optimize GTM and onboarding
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline metrics, and CRM hygiene; report insights to leadership

Education

  • Series 7 or relevant local securities license (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (FINRA/NFA) beneficial
