Paralegal

Acquisition.com is on a mission to make real world business education available to everyone.

At Acquisition.com, we don’t just hire for open roles—we hire for impact. If you’re exceptional at what you do and align with our core values: competitive greatness, sincere candor, and unimpeachable character, we want to know you.

Role:

At Acquisition.com, legal isn’t just about minimizing risk - it’s about enabling the business to move faster with confidence. We’re growing quickly, which means our legal team is constantly working at the intersection of risk and enablement, while making sure the company and its assets are protected. That’s where you come in.

As our Paralegal, you’ll be the operational backbone of the legal function - keeping our house in order, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks, and helping the General Counsel stay focused on the most high-impact issues. You’ll manage contracts from start to finish, streamline internal workflows, support HR and compliance initiatives, and keep our IP and brand protected.

This role isn’t limited to a single lane. One day, you might be reviewing a vendor contract; the next, ensuring a marketing campaign is legally sound, and the next, coordinating with outside counsel on trademark enforcement. You’ll get broad exposure to every corner of the business, and your fingerprints will be on the systems and processes that allow us to scale without slowing down.

Most importantly, this is a role where your work directly fuels growth. By creating clarity, driving organization, and anticipating problems before they happen, you’ll help us operate at the highest level while protecting the company’s most valuable assets. If you’re detail-obsessed, thrive in fast-moving environments, and want to play a key role in building a world-class in-house legal function, this is your opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Legal Operations & Organization

    • Maintain and organize company legal files, contracts, and compliance records.

    • Implement and optimize internal legal workflows, policies, and processes that cut friction and increase speed.

    • Manage legal calendars, deadlines, and task tracking.

  • Intellectual Property & Brand Protection

    • Assist with trademark and copyright filings, renewals, and enforcement.

    • Monitor and help enforce brand protection strategies.

    • Conduct IP research and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.

  • Commercial Contracts

    • Draft, review, and maintain standard agreements (NDAs, vendor agreements, marketing agreements, licensing contracts).

    • Own the contract lifecycle: intake, review, and execution while ensuring compliance with company policies.

    • Track contract obligations and key deadlines.

  • Employment & HR Support

    • Support HR and legal in employment law compliance, policies, and employee-related matters.

    • Assist with onboarding documentation and internal compliance initiatives.

  • Marketing, Media & Compliance

    • Review marketing collateral, website content, and campaigns for compliance risks.

    • Coordinate compliance function to ensure adherence to regulations.

    • Help manage company responses to regulatory requests or audits.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of paralegal experience (in-house corporate strongly preferred)

  • Proven organizational and project management skills – ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines without dropping balls

  • Energy and proactivity: you thrive in environments and take initiative without waiting for instruction

  • Growth mindset: humble, eager to learn and coachable - you absorb feedback and get better every time

  • Reliability: you’re the one people trust to ensure nothing slips through the cracks

  • Big picture thinking: you obsess over details but understand how legal connects to business strategy

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and precision in legal documentation.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams.

  • Eagerness to learn and flexibility to adapt to new subject areas and business needs.

  • High degree of humility, professionalism, and integrity.

  • Experience in IP, contracts, compliance, or HR law strongly preferred.

Results:

  • Legal is never a bottleneck: You turn legal processes into growth enablers, not roadblocks.

  • The business scales with confidence: Systems, contracts, and compliance are tight, letting teams move fast without fear of missing something critical.

  • Zero dropped balls: Deadlines are hit, obligations are tracked, and leadership sleeps at night knowing the legal foundation is solid.

  • IP and brand are protected: Our reputation and assets are guarded, so the company can expand boldly.

  • Cross-team trust: Business units see legal as a partner, not a hurdle—your reliability builds confidence across the org.

Location:

  • Remote (must live in FL, GA, IN, MI, NV, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, VT, WI, MN, MD) with occasional travel

Compensation:

  • $85,500-$99,750 annually

  • The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below).
