- Credentialed veterinary technician certification in-state (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT)
- Proficiency with IV fluids, CRIs, blood transfusion setup and monitoring
- Anesthesia monitoring and experience with ventilated patients
- Advanced vascular access and phlebotomy skills
- Point-of-care diagnostics and basic imaging familiarity
- CPR and emergency resuscitation skills (RECOVER training preferred)
- Comfortable using practice management and EMR systems
- Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork
- Physical stamina for standing, lifting up to 25 kg solo and assisting up to 40 kg
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate basic to advanced nursing care, monitoring, and treatments for emergency patients
- Triage incoming patients using physical assessment and monitoring parameters
- Administer and monitor subcutaneous, IM, and IV medications and manage potential adverse effects
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot IV fluid therapy including CRIs and blood transfusions
- Monitor and maintain patients under general anesthesia, including mechanical ventilation when needed
- Perform advanced vascular access (jugular, central, intraosseous, arterial) and obtain diagnostic samples
- Assist with diagnostic imaging and point-of-care tests; collect and process lab samples
- Perform CPR as a RECOVER Certified Rescuer and participate in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care
- Coach and guide veterinary assistants and other technicians to maintain standards and support growth
- Document care in the electronic medical record and communicate clearly with the team and clients
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Credentialed veterinary technician certification (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) valid in FL
