- Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in North Carolina
- Experience with IV therapy, medication administration, and anesthesia monitoring
- Ability to triage, assess, and prioritize critically ill patients
- Proficiency with practice management software and electronic medical records
- Strong fine motor skills and ability to operate diagnostic and surgical equipment
- Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, kneel, and safely lift patients
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered nursing care including monitoring, treatments, and medication administration
- Triage incoming patients and perform accurate patient assessments
- Administer and monitor IV fluid therapy, CRIs, and blood transfusions
- Assist with and monitor general anesthesia and mechanical ventilation as needed
- Perform advanced vascular access (jugular, intraosseous, arterial) and sample collection
- Collect and run in-house diagnostic tests and assist with diagnostic imaging
- Perform CPR and emergency procedures as a RECOVER Certified Rescuer (or trained)
- Coach and guide veterinary assistants and peers to maintain standards of care
- Participate in patient rounds and contribute to treatment and nursing care plans
- Troubleshoot and maintain oxygen cages and other oxygen administration systems
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Credentialed veterinary technician license (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) required
- Ongoing continuing education and willingness to pursue specialty certification encouraged
