Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician - Cary, NC

VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) is a rapidly growing emergency veterinary company focused on patient-centered care and an employee-first culture. We are seeking a credentialed Emergency Veterinary Technician in Cary, NC who is motivated, compassionate, and eager to grow clinically in emergency and critical care settings.

Skills

  • Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in North Carolina
  • Experience with IV therapy, medication administration, and anesthesia monitoring
  • Ability to triage, assess, and prioritize critically ill patients
  • Proficiency with practice management software and electronic medical records
  • Strong fine motor skills and ability to operate diagnostic and surgical equipment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, kneel, and safely lift patients

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-centered nursing care including monitoring, treatments, and medication administration
  • Triage incoming patients and perform accurate patient assessments
  • Administer and monitor IV fluid therapy, CRIs, and blood transfusions
  • Assist with and monitor general anesthesia and mechanical ventilation as needed
  • Perform advanced vascular access (jugular, intraosseous, arterial) and sample collection
  • Collect and run in-house diagnostic tests and assist with diagnostic imaging
  • Perform CPR and emergency procedures as a RECOVER Certified Rescuer (or trained)
  • Coach and guide veterinary assistants and peers to maintain standards of care
  • Participate in patient rounds and contribute to treatment and nursing care plans
  • Troubleshoot and maintain oxygen cages and other oxygen administration systems

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Credentialed veterinary technician license (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) required
  • Ongoing continuing education and willingness to pursue specialty certification encouraged
