Microsoft Platform Automation Engineer

Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Platform Automation Engineer with expertise in Microsoft automation and analytics to deliver enterprise-scale automated dashboards, provide actionable security and privacy insights, and design advanced workflows across PowerBI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate, and SharePoint. This individual will analyze complex, disparate data sets, develop automated solutions, and generate actionable recommendations to support critical cybersecurity and business decisions.

Required Experience:

• 7+ years of relevant cybersecurity, data analytics, or related fields, with a focus on Microsoft automation tools 
• Advanced degree in a technical or cyber-related field; relevant certifications or equivalent professional experience may substitute.
• Technical Skills:
  • Power BI – dashboard development and visualization.
  • Power Automate – workflow automation.
  • PowerApps – custom applications and forms.
  • SharePoint automation – data integration and process automation.
  • Data analysis and modeling – examining large and disparate data sets.
  • Scripting/programming – developing scripts or automation processes to support analytics (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
  • Data visualization and reporting – presenting insights to diverse audiences.
  • Security and privacy awareness – understanding of cybersecurity principles, governance, and risk management.
• Knowledge of databases, data warehousing, query languages, enterprise messaging systems, and secure coding practices.
• Ability to develop actionable insights from large, complex, and disparate datasets.
• Expertise in cybersecurity and privacy principles, risk management, and compliance.
• Ability to communicate complex technical data to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to dissect interrelated data and anticipate data management needs.\
• Familiarity with cloud and on-premises environments, data automation pipelines, and enterprise-scale analytics solutions.
• Knowledge of machine learning and advanced analytics techniques.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and maintain automated PowerBI dashboards to visualize complex enterprise data.
• Analyze and define data requirements and specifications to support cybersecurity and business insights.
• Examine data from multiple disparate sources, providing actionable security and privacy insights.
• Design and implement custom algorithms, workflow processes, and layouts for modeling, data mining, and research purposes.
• Assess the validity of source data and findings; develop metrics, trending analyses, and strategic insights from large data sets.
• Conduct hypothesis testing and statistical analyses to evaluate trends and predictions.
• Develop and facilitate data-gathering methods, data mining, and data warehousing programs.
• Develop data standards, policies, procedures, and data models to ensure consistency and integrity.
• Present technical data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Program custom algorithms and scripts to automate data collection, processing, and reporting tasks.
• Utilize Microsoft automation tools (PowerAutomate, PowerApps, SharePoint) to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
• Apply open-source and enterprise programming languages (R, Python, SQL, Java, etc.) for analytics and automation tasks.
• Provide recommendations on database technologies, architectures, and optimization of data storage.
• Monitor and plan for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements and security considerations.

The salary range for this position is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. It has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, and internal equity. The salary for this role is expected to be in the $100,000 - $139,000 range. Where a candidate falls within the band can be determined based on one or more of the following: skillset, experience level, achievements, education, geographic location, security clearance, involvement in corporate tasks, and other non-discriminatory factors. In addition to the base salary, this role will include benefits as described below.  Valiant reserves the right to adjust the salary range, experience requirements, and position responsibilities at any time without prior notice.
