  • Communicate cost estimates, copays, and out-of-pocket responsibilities in a patient-friendly manner.
  • Assist with payment plans and refer patients to appropriate billing or assistance resources.
  • Collaborate with coding and billing teams to resolve payer issues, identify recurring barriers, and escalate as needed.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial counseling interactions.
  • Log all communications and actions in the EHR and other required platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies related to financial assistance and patient financial communications.

Team Coordination & Process Improvement

  • Serve as a liaison between patients, financial services, clinical teams, and external program contacts.
  • Identify trends in coverage issues or program access and recommend process improvements.
  • Actively participate in efforts to streamline workflows, reduce patient friction, and increase access to care.
  • Track follow-up on pending enrollments or authorization cases to ensure timely resolution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field and 3 years of experience in patient financial services, insurance verification, or financial counseling within a healthcare setting OR High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of experience in patient financial services, insurance verification, or financial counseling within a healthcare setting
