Senior BI Developer, Trust & Safety Operations

The opportunity
The Trust & Safety Operations (T&S Ops) team at Unity is central to facilitating data-driven decision-making, identifying business growth opportunities, and designing impactful analytical tools. Unity operates the full-spectrum Digital Ad Ecosystem, including multiple Ad networks, both of which are under the scope of work for this team; it is an exciting and challenging environment that requires an ability to grapple with abstractions and boil down complexity into what is relevant.

We are looking for an analytical, communicative, and versatile Sr. Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. Your day-to-day will involve analyzing large ad delivery datasets for insights, developing interactive and reliable BI solutions for the team and its stakeholders, owning data reporting and operational pipelines, and working cross-functionally across Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Business teams to drive forward product initiatives.

What you'll be doing

• Leveraging the common toolkits and infrastructures, independently design, develop, and implement new data extraction, transformation, and loading processes in production.
• Design, develop, and optimize dashboards, tools, and visualizations to monitor trends of invalid or low-quality traffic, detect suspicious behaviors within our ad inventory, and assess operational performance.
• Work closely with analysts and data scientists to integrate machine learning outputs, anomaly scores, and classification signals into BI products.
• Support existing processes and implement optimized solutions with limited guidance, with the ultimate goal of maximizing automation.
• Consistently recommend and implement innovative workflows to meet the shifting demands of this dynamic industry.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in BI development, data analytics, or related fields.
• Practical experience with SQL, ETL (Airflow), and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, Scala, or others).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or others).
• Extensive experience with modern BI tools to create impactful visualizations (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with different collaborators across various teams and audiences, as well as a self-starter who can operate and drive work to completion independently

You might also have

• Experience working with large-scale, complex datasets and a strong understanding of data warehousing principles.
• Working knowledge of statistics, A/B tests, data modeling, and/or machine learning concepts.
• Adtech and/or mobile gaming industry experience
• Understanding of common digital ad fraud tactics (e.g., click fraud, impression fraud, spoofing, bots).
