The Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our founding team in San Francisco. In this role, you’ll design, build, and ship the next generation of our financial platform — touching everything from core backend services to third-party integrations and deployment pipelines.
This is an opportunity to make a significant impact early on, with ownership over critical parts of the stack and a direct hand in shaping both the product and engineering culture.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop new backend features that extend the capabilities of our core platform
- Build and maintain APIs powering a distributed, cloud-based infrastructure
- Architect and scale our next-generation deployment pipeline and cloud systems
- Integrate third-party APIs (e.g., Stripe, CapitalOS) into our financial products
- Collaborate closely with the front-end team to deliver seamless user experiences
- Write clear documentation and communicate design decisions across the team
What We’re Looking For
- Strong computer science fundamentals and problem-solving skills
- 5+ years building and deploying distributed cloud systems in production
- Hands-on experience with AWS or similar cloud environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work asynchronously
- A bias toward simplicity, clarity, and high-impact execution
Bonus Points
- Expertise in Python, Django, and modern backend frameworks
- Experience working in high-growth startups or with distributed teams
- Proven track record of deploying and scaling applications in AWS
