Responsibilities
- Perform detailed RF link budget analyses and margin validation across dynamic mission geometries and environments
- Define and validate transmit power, antenna gain, modulation, coding, and data rates to meet link requirements
- Develop and maintain configuration documentation for multi-node relay and bent-pipe network architectures
- Configure and validate RF network topologies, frequency plans, and routing paths for dynamic relay networks
- Interface with government and commercial stakeholders to optimize mission parameters and meet requirements
- Support bent-pipe paths (balloon-to-balloon, balloon-to-payload, balloon-to-ground, payload-to-ground)
- Conduct hardware-in-the-loop and field validation tests including end-to-end connectivity and throughput
- Develop automated monitoring and reporting tools and support real-time mission operations
- Analyze post-mission RF telemetry to refine models and update configurations
- Develop security-hardened RF and data communications network standards
Education
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or related field
