Skills
- Technical leadership in large-scale propulsion or aerospace test programs
- Expertise in test planning, execution, data acquisition, instrumentation, and automation
- Advanced programming and analysis (Python, MATLAB, C/C++, Simulink)
- Strong knowledge of serial protocols and distributed control (RS-422, RS-485, CAN)
- Systems engineering, requirements traceability, and MIL-STD application
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Hands-on experience with rocket motor/propulsion integration, static fire and environmental testing
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical authority and lead test director for major integration and qualification test campaigns.
- Define, approve, and implement test strategies, architectures, and methodologies to meet program requirements.
- Oversee design, validation, and integration of test systems, hardware, and software for SWIL, HWIL, and full-scale tests.
- Lead root-cause investigations and technical review boards for anomalies and post-test assessments.
- Represent the organization in customer and government reviews (e.g., TRR, CDR), presenting findings and mitigations.
- Drive standardization, continuous improvement, and adoption of data-driven test practices, instrumentation, and automation.
- Mentor and develop engineers, promoting technical depth and leadership within the test organization.
- Collaborate with program management and systems engineering to integrate test activities into development schedules.
- Champion safety, reliability, and compliance in all test operations.
- Evaluate and implement emerging digital test tools, modeling, and simulation to enhance test fidelity and efficiency.
- Support proposal development and author technical volumes related to test and integration strategy.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in systems, aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering or related STEM (required)
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline preferred
