Financial Operations Manager

Alto is a rapidly growing fintech making alternative investing accessible to everyday retirement investors. The Financial Operations Manager will lead the FinOps team to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant processing of transactions, settlements, and reconciliations while partnering with Product and Engineering to drive automation and scale.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, payments, and investment transaction flows
  • Experience with high-volume transaction processing and treasury workflows
  • Proven reconciliations and settlement systems experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting/treasury software
  • Leadership, communication, and process improvement capabilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced fintech environment and ensure compliance

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily transaction workflows including wires, checks, internal transfers, and investment-related payments
  • Process inbound/outbound wires, enter and allocate check batches, and handle chargebacks/NSF adjustments
  • Perform daily, monthly, and ad-hoc reconciliations (bank, cash, transactions) and support month-end close
  • Oversee write-offs, forfeitures, distributions, and ensure accurate documentation and controls
  • Partner with Operations, Product, and Engineering to improve workflows, integrations, and automation
  • Ensure financial processes comply with regulatory standards, internal policies, and audit requirements
  • Manage, mentor, and develop members of the financial operations team and establish best practices

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Series 99 registration required
  • 5+ years of experience in financial operations, treasury, or similar roles (fintech preferred)
