Skills
- Advanced scientific/medical degree (PhD, MD, PharmD or equivalent).
- 6-10 years in medical communications, publications, or related Medical Affairs roles in pharma/biotech.
- Proven ability to develop scientific narratives, slide decks, and congress materials.
- Strong clinical development knowledge and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and project management skills.
- Experience managing external agencies and vendors.
- Ability to collaborate in fast-paced, matrixed global environments and manage multiple therapeutic areas.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~20%).
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement program-level medical communications plans aligned with integrated evidence and brand strategies.
- Lead creation and maintenance of core scientific narratives and program/product talking points.
- Produce and update medical communications deliverables: Q&As, slide decks, congress materials, and field medical tools.
- Support congress strategy and lead Medical Affairs congress deliverables, including symposia and post-congress summaries.
- Collaborate with Publications, Medical Information, HEOR, regional medical teams, and cross-functional partners for aligned outputs.
- Manage external medical communications vendors to ensure quality, compliance, timelines, and fiscal discipline.
- Capture scientific insights and competitive intelligence and translate into actionable updates for Global Medical Leads.
- Contribute to launch readiness and ensure scientific preparedness for internal and external engagements.
Education
- Advanced degree in a scientific or medical field (PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent).
- Relevant continuing education or training in medical affairs, clinical research, or scientific communications preferred.
