What you’ll do
Our 10-week paid internship will provide you with the foundation to become a financial market specialist while working in a dynamic and supportive team environment. You will receive accelerated learning and skill development through a mix of on-the-job training, mentorship, a community of peers and advisors, and a pathway to our full-time Capital Markets Development Program upon graduation.
Derivative Product Group (DPG) Role:
Interest rate and commodity derivatives are a key component of U.S. Bank's expanding capital markets platform, and the firm continues to invest in and enhance its derivative capabilities. The Derivative Product Group is currently comprised of 27 product specialists marketing derivative products to corporate, commercial, real estate, specialty finance, and commercial clients. During their assignments the interns will get exposure to the DPG sales, trading, and operational processes. In addition to the practical exposure on the DPG desk, there is an academic component of the program where content and assignments relative to our industry will be offered to the internship class.

Basic qualifications:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Economics, or a related field with a target graduation of December 2025 or spring 2026
Ability to start the internship program on June 8, 2026
Preferred qualifications:
Solid foundation of economics and finance theory; well-versed in current economic conditions and outlook including monetary policy, growth/inflation, and the current interest rate environment
Knowledge of fixed income mathematics and pricing of derivative applications, including swaps, swaptions, caps, floors, and treasury locks
Exceptional interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
Well-developed analytical skills.
Acute attention to detail.
Self-motivated with a keen desire to learn and contribute within a dynamic team environment.
Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints.

Working model and hours:
This role is hybrid. Interns who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days. Interns work approximately 40-hours each week during the internship.
