What you’ll do
Our 10-week paid internship will provide you with the foundation to become a financial market specialist while working in a dynamic and supportive team environment. You will receive accelerated learning and skill development through a mix of on-the-job training, mentorship, a community of peers and advisors, and a pathway to our full-time Capital Markets Development Program upon graduation.
Foreign Exchange Roles:
U.S. Bank has been a participant in the Foreign Exchange market for several decades and over the last few years has seen exponential growth which we anticipate continuing. Our team consists of over 50 professionals in various capacities including trading, sales/advisory, product development and technology. The foreign exchange internship will provide a strong grounding in financial markets and a springboard towards career and personal development.
As a Foreign Exchange Intern, you will:
Get hands-on experience working on projects that impact the business such as analyzing and preparing financial reports and financial modelling
Support the execution of foreign exchange transactions, including Spot, Forward, Swap and Derivatives
Analyze market trends and support the team in providing regular market update material both internally and directly to clients
Participate in collating presentation materials and observe client conversations surrounding currency risk management
Develop technical and business acumen through training, mentorship, and exposure to senior executives
Build a supportive community of peers through a variety of cohort strengthening activities such as social events, development workshops, and catered insight to support your transition from college to the workforce

Basic qualifications:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Economics, Accounting, or a related field with a target graduation of December 2026 or spring 2027
Ability to start the internship program on June 8, 2026
Preferred qualifications:
Solid understanding of financial markets
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Solid foundation of economics and finance theory
Well-versed in current economic conditions and outlook including monetary policy, growth/inflation, and the current interest rate environment
Strong in Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints
Self-motivated with a keen desire to learn and contribute within a dynamic team environment
Intellectual curiosity
Attention to detail
Well-developed analytical skills

Working model and hours:
This role is hybrid. Interns who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days. Interns work approximately 40-hours each week during the internship.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role.
