Who we’re looking for
Collaborates, influences, and challenges domains and technology teams to present an accurate and unbiased view of operating expenses and total cost (operating plus capital) for domain OKRs, supported by financial analysis and appropriate productivity metrics. Drives enterprise alignment and accountability through cross-functional collaboration on Investment and technology spend. Serve as key financial advisor to senior leadership team by enabling informed budget and investment decisions linked to short-term and long-term business objectives. Must possess analytical and collaborative mindset to champion innovative ideas, breakthrough solutions, and drive actionable insights.
This position requires the individual to have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence all levels of management (including Executive Committee) while providing clarity and context around business challenges and performance against targets. Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to verbally and visually present data, analysis, conclusions and recommendations to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
This role will lead strategic business discussions for highly complex areas including developing performance measurement presentations for senior leadership. The role will take a critical consultative role in assessing business case justification including NPV and ROI analysis. The role will lead efforts to align technology and initiative financial planning processes with best practices across Finance while providing transparency around investment spend and value delivery. This role works closely with accounting and Data and Tech teams to ensure proper alignment of actual expenses for capitalization and management reporting. The role may also lead and guide Senior Financial Analysts as needed.
What you’ll be doing
Performance Measurement and Reporting
Lead role in management and development of financial planning discipline for team.
Lead executive level discussions to provide visibility, transparency, and insight
Lead discussions with internal FP&A team leaders and senior executives
Lead development of monthly and quarterly reporting providing analysis at a consolidated as well as individual businesses and initiative views
Provide consolidations and analysis of financial reporting
Lead and administer effective execution in the planning/forecasting processes in terms of timing, frequency, and depth of information provided.
Strategic Expense Management – Financial Planning and Analysis
Lead role in all aspects of managing the OPEX Planning function for Data and Technology including Domains and OKRs. This includes ensuring alignment of operational expense related activities with enterprise targets and strategic objectives:
Challenge assumptions, validate rationale, and identify risks and opportunities in the plan and forecasts. Integrate multiple views and perspectives into a consistent forecast narrative to clarify complex and involved situations.
Partner and collaborate with other FP&A groups and other stakeholders to manage the development of short and long range plan deliverables (monthly forecasts and outlooks, quarterly TFSC forecasts, annual plan, 5-year plan, etc.).
Produce and enhance OPEX reporting tailored to the various audiences, and their business needs to highlight risks and opportunities to help optimize their spend.
Provide financial and analytical insight and guidance for project cost benefit analysis/business cases (NPV, ROI)
Lead the month end activities for consolidated Data and Technology as well as Domains. Drive executive level discussions for recommendations and transparency.
Manage and produce business case status reporting with broader OPEX team to ensure timely completion of end-to-end business case process.
Special Projects
Lead special projects, identify improvement opportunities, and deliver solutions.
Develop and drive discussions with stakeholders to influence desired outcome on assigned projects
Support the business or project team in a consultative and finance advisory role
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of relevant work experience (in similar field and/or industry)
Solid financial and analytical skills
Experience/Aptitude for Microsoft Products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Experience/Aptitude for Financial Planning, and Reporting systems (i.e. Hyperion Planning, SAP, Essbase, SmartView, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI)
Excellent presentation skills, ability to influence and change management skills
Strong analytical skills, initiative
Ability to quickly learn new applications or software tools
Added bonus if you have
Advanced degree (MBA, CPA) preferred
Experience/Aptitude with Initiative Management, Business case development, value capture analysis, and related systems (Planview, JIRA, Service Now etc.)
