Responsibilities
- Perform authoritative live shots during developing or breaking news
- Develop and pitch story ideas and enterprise reporting
- Cultivate and maintain local sources to inform coverage
- Shoot, write, produce and edit on-air and online content under deadlines
- Use creative production techniques (graphics, viewer content, webcam interviews) to enhance stories
- Use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content
- Attend editorial meetings and contribute story ideas daily
- Research facts and verify credibility for accurate reporting
- Operate news-gathering vehicle and travel to story locations as needed
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field preferred
- 1-3 years reporting experience preferred
