Communications Strategist

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices. 

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your Role:

  • Is responsible for service line marketing, media relations, community relations, colleague and physician relations, special events, brand management, publications and collateral materials, digital marketing, and website content creation and management.
  • Displays an understanding of diversity.
  • Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values).
  • Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.
  • Conducts activities designed to generate positive editorial coverage focused on increasing fundraising support for the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Foundation (TMHF) and its ongoing support of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare’s (TMH) patients and clinical support needs.
  • Creates original content that can be used in multiple mediums that align with organizational, departmental, and programmatic objectives.
  • Collaborates closely with TMHF colleagues, immediate supervisor, and other departments to assess fundraising communication needs and develop plans and programs to educate prospective donors and inspire fundraising support.
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of a variety of major and minor internal and external special events to accomplish TMHF’s fundraising goals.
  • Monitors, guides, and executes the appropriate use of TMHF’s and TMH's logos, branding, and corporate identity in a variety of media to ensure consistent image of quality and adherence to branding strategies.
  • Utilizes excellent written and verbal and interpersonal communication skills to foster effective working relationships and produce high-quality products.
  • Promotes TMHF’s campaigns, events, brand, etc., via digital and social media outlets.
  • Collaborates well with TMHF colleagues and TMH Marketing and Communications staff members.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, English, marketing, or a related field

Required Experience:

  • Two (2) years of directly related professional experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Five (5) years directly related professional experience. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experienced professional. 
  • Flexible. 
  • Creative. 
  • Highly organized.
