What You'll Be Doing

The Senior Quantitative Analyst works closely with the Electronic Trading Product team in the initiation and development of equity trading algorithms, transaction cost models, and order routing strategies. This position manages the quant research idea generation process and initiates research into trading signals and model factors. The Senior Quantitative Analyst will then work closely with the Head of Products to determine which research and results are suitable for further analysis or deployment into Stifel trading algorithms. Finally, the Senior Quantitative Analyst will manage other quantitative analysts in their participation in projects and the writing of research white papers.

What We're Looking For

  • Apply computational, mathematical, and statistical techniques in support of equity execution algorithm development and transaction cost modeling.
  • Originate quantitative models and analytical tools to address issues such as short-term volume/price forecasting, sentiment analysis, signaling, execution optimization, performance measurement, and risk attribution.
  • Manage other quantitative resources to achieve high “hit rate” on potential model enhancements.
  • Author bespoke quantitative research papers in response to client performance inquiries.
  • Maintain existing quantitative processes and develop new core analytical capabilities or model libraries, using advanced statistical, machine learning and quantitative techniques.
  • Devise or apply independent models or tools to help verify results of analytical systems.
  • Interpret results of analytical procedures and recommends new processes and or action plans.
  • Work closely with trading, technology, and model validation teams to improve product offering.
  • Present key research findings/insights to team members.

What You'll Bring

  • Ability to use quantitative and data science techniques to research and develop appropriate models and tools for use by trading algorithms.
  • Ability to understand what quantitative research is commercially viable and computationally efficient.
  • Strong knowledge of programming skillset, Python, R, SQL, and KX-Q Studio.
  • Familiarty with the European equities market.
  • Creativity/ability to adapt and define processes. 
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong communicator. 

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Graduate Degree in computational finance or financial engineering.
  • Minimum Required: 3+ years of related experience in equity trading

Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: None

Systems & Technology

  • Knowledge of time-series data platforms (q/KDB+, etc.) required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Compensation Range

Salary: USD $200,000.00/Yr. - USD $300,000.00/Yr. Actual salaries may vary, and may be based on several factors, including but not limited to each candidate’s qualifications, skills, and overall competencies for the position. The base salary is one component of Stifel’s overall compensation package for each individual employee.
