Responsibilities

The Medical Staff Assistant is responsible for performing various office and clerical duties relating to Medical Staff activities and functions. Should be able to understand and follow instructions on department policies and procedures. Be able to develop a working knowledge of medical staff credentialing process as well as assisting with medical staff meeting preparations. Assist the Supervisor(s) and Coordinator(s) in meeting the day-to-day needs of the Medical Staff Office.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma required for all new hires starting 4/1/2014
  • 1-2 years in general or healthcare office, preferred.
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint, preferred.
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical staff services department and/or acute care hospital experience, preferred.
  • College degree, preferred.

    St. Mary's General Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $15.90 to $21.81. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
